Capturing the BEST ANIMATION FILM AWARD and SPECIAL JURY AWARD respectively for the Animation Short Films HUGO vs Lino and FEEL THE PUNCH, Dilsukhnagar Arena students flashed the V-sign at the Short and Documentary Film Festival Hyderabad-2010 organized by Hyderabad Film Club from September 24-28 at Ravindra Bharathi Auditorium, Hyderabad.
Both the award-winning 3D Animation short films were passionately created in High-Definition by budding students of Animation from Dilsukhnagar Arena as part of their industry-oriented Animation training programs. Hugo vs Lino is a sci-fi action thriller with a plot rewound from the future while Feel the punch is a hilarious take on quotidian street encounters and generates enough laughs to win you over.
The Hyderabad Film Club with the support of Andhra Pradesh State Film, Television & Theatre Development Corporation organized SDFFH-2010 from September 24 to 28 at Hyderabad. The festival aims to map and reflect the exploding nature of the medium in its many facets of creativity and resistance. SDFFH-2010 attracted keen participation across categories from film enthusiasts all over India.
Not less than 100 good short films and documentaries were screened at the SDFFH-2010 and also some best foreign short and documentary films were shown as part of the festival which is turned out to be the favorite event of film lovers of Hyderabad. Apart from the inaugural and valedictory, many other exciting events were organized throughout the festival. Discussion forum and interviews with directors were organized.
Hyderabad Film Club (HFC) was established in 1974, with an avowed objective of fostering greater appreciation and understanding of cinema by promoting the study of the film as an art and social force, encouraging artistic value in film production and promoting research on cinema and organizing/participating in film festivals, lectures, seminars, conference etc. in India and abroad. HFC has already conducted two major international film festivals (HIFF) in 2007 and 2008.
