More awards in Dilsukhnagar Arena's kitty.
Dilsukhnagar Arena Animation captured 5 awards including 4 Special Campus Awards at the Short Film Festival of Vijayawada SFFV-2011 on April 5 and 6, 2011 at KL Rao Bhavan, Governorpet, Vijayawada.
Dilsukhnagar Arena's 2D Animation Short Film "Trashhed" won the "Silver Krishnaveni Award" for "Best Short Film" at SFFV-2011. Mr. Malladi Vishnu, MLA, Vijayawada Central presented the award along with a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 to Dilsukhnagar Arena in the presence of Mr. Jampa Krishna Kishore – Vijayawada Film Society Secretary and C. Uma Maheshwara Rao – Film Director and SFFV-2011 Jury chairman.
"Trashhed" previously won the first prize at the International Film Festival held, Nagpur apart from two prestigious nominations at the Aarohi film festival-Mumbai and the 16th International Children's Film Festival-Mumbai.
SFFV-2011 attracted 117 entries in the open category from budding film makers across the country. 30 films were selected for screening out of which 7 films were from Dilsukhnagar Arena.
The Short Film Festival, Vijayawada (SFFV)-2011 was organized by Vijayawada Film Society in association with Andhra Pradesh State Film, Television and Theatre Development Corporation (APSFTvTDC). The objectives of the festival are: to generate awareness on a range of socially important issues including pollution, conservation of precious natural resources etc. through inspiring short films, to provide a platform for budding film makers to showcase their talent and also to promote tourism and commerce in Vijayawada.
