CMS Vatavaran felicitates Dilsukhnagar Arena CEO, Mr. Rajasekhar Buggaveeti
The 4th Traveling Film Festival of CMS VATAVARAN which aims to usher in a new green order, graced the city of Hyderabad with its three-day long festival and forum. Day 3 of the event held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan on August 13, 2010 included screenings of Indian and International Films and felicitation of Environment Filmmakers and Green Heroes.
A trio of award-winning 2D Animation short films on environment conservation (Fuel Duel, A Garden Dream & The Farmer and his Goat) crafted by students of Dilsukhnagar Arena received the prestigious honour of special screenings at the 4th Traveling Film Festival of CMS VATAVARAN in Hyderabad on August 13, 2010. Each of these films drove the audience into a frenzy as they burst into a thunderous applause at "THE END". Mr. N. Bhaskara Rao, Chairman of CMS invited Mr. Rajasekhar Buggaveeti, CEO of Dilsukhnagar Arena, onto the stage and felicitated him. He also presented a memento to Mr. Rajasekhar. He congratulated the budding team of Animators from Dilsukhnagar Arena and appreciated their efforts in spreading awareness on environmental concerns through these inspirational films.
About the films screened at the festival
While "Fuel Duel" is a widely-appreciated short film having won such accolades as Special Jury Award in the Asian Panorama Category at the 16th International Children’s Film Festival, Hyderabad-09 and 1st prize in Animation category, Gateway Awards, Anna University, September-09, "The Farmer and his Goat" turned out to be a virtual awards-magnet, having attracted a host of awards including 1st Runner-up at NID’s Chitrakatha 09 International Student Animation Film Festival, 1st prize in the Animation Short Film category at the 1st Cinema Today Short Film (CTSF-2009) Awards, 1st Prize in Image Today Short Film Awards, Chennai - 2009 and 2nd Prize in Bhumika Film Festival, Mumbai-2009. "A Garden Dream" is another 2D Animation short film from Dilsukhnagar Arena students which has been widely acknowledged for its creative content. The film received 7 prestigious nominations at various national and international film festivals. |
